The first women police station was inaugurated by Smt. Indira Gandhi on Oct. 23, 1973 at Kozhikode city of Kerala. It is also the first women police station in Asia. In recent, first Women Post office was inaugurated at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi in India on March 11,  2013 and an all-female bank staff branch inaugurated Women’s only bank in Mumbai on Nov. 19, 2013.
