*Sushil Koirala, leader of Nepali Congress, is to be the next Prime
Minister of Nepal.
- The breakthrough, ending months of political deadlock after the last
year's elections, was achieved when his party acceded to a six-point
deal with CPN--UML.

*BCCI president N Srinivasan is set to be the first ICC chairman for a
2-year term beginning July this year.
- The move is in line with the ICC structural reform which gives more
power to the big 3 of international cricket India, England and
Australia.
- India, which generates 80% of the game's total revenues, will enjoy
a permanent seat on a five-member executive committee alongwith
Australia and England.
- The 3 will also pocket larger share of the ICC revenues from now on.
- All the full member countries (8 out of 10) approved the changes
barring neighbours Sri Lanka and Pakistan who opposed and abstained
from voting.

*General Motors CEO Mary Barra tops the Fortune global list of 50 most
powerful women in business.
- She, the first woman to run a global automaker, is followed in the
list by IBM's Ginni Rometty at 2nd and PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi at the
3rd rank.
- ICICI Bank Managing Director 'Chanda Kochhar' (18th) is the only
Indian, apart from Nooyi, to feature in this coveted list.

*'AIMA - RK Swamy High Performance Brand Award' for 2013 conferred on Amul.
- State Bank of India, Life Insurance Corporation of India, Wipro
Technologies and Apollo Tyres are the past recipients of the award
that recognizes the marketing success of a brand.
- All India Management Association (AIMA), the national apex body of
management professionals in the country, and RK Swamy BBDO had
instituted the Award in 2009.

*Marco Lambertini has been appointed as the new Director-General of
WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature).
- He will assume charge as such from 1st of May.

*Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty becomes Rajya Sabha MP from West Bengal.
- He was elected on the Trinamul Congress ticket alongwith 3 others
namely painter Jogen Chowdhury, businessman K.D.Singh and Ahamed
Hassan.
- CPI (M) candidate Ritabrata Banerjee rounds off the result as the
5th Rajya Sabha MP from the state.

*SEBI head Upendra Kumar Sinha gets 2-year extension as the Chairman
of this securities market regulator of India.

*Five time world boxing champion and Olympic bronze medalist MC Mary
Kom becomes the brand ambassador of nation's largest paramilitary
force CRPF
*Maruti Suzuki India has stopped production of Maruti 800.

*The International Cricket Council (ICC) board announced that BCCI
president N. Srinivasan will be the Chairman of the ICC board from
July.

*The Union Cabinet approved the Telangana bill.

*Winter Olympics starts in Sochi, Russia.

*Three Indian athletes Shiva Keshavan, Himanshu Thakur and Nadeem
Iqbal are competing as independent athletes in Winter Olympics due to
IOA's (Indian Olympic Association) suspension by the International
Olympic Committee.
