- The incumbent president, so-called Iron Lady of Lithuania, thus becomes the first person to serve two consecutive term as the President of this Baltic state.
- She, President since 2009, gets another 5-year term as such.
- She polled 58 percent of votes over her rival Zigmantas Balcytis of Social Democrat who could garner just 42 percent.
2. Ahmed Maitiq has been sworn-in as the new Prime Minister of Libiya; the 5th since the fall of Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
- He won the vote of confidence by receiving 83 votes out of the total 93.
- The 42-year old replaces acting Prime Minister Abdullah Thinni.

- The Rhino DNA Indexing System (RhODIS), will create a database of each individual rhino’s unique DNA profile which can be referenced when presenting legal evidence in cases of rhino poaching.

- Large amounts of money is stashed abroad by evading taxes or generated through unlawful activities.
