1. The Competition Commission of
India penalizes 14 car companies
of Rs. 2544 crores.
- These have been found guilty of
withholding access to branded
spare parts and diagnostic tools
to independent repairers.
- This monopolistic control forced
around 2 crore car consumers to
shell out more money as only
authorized centres could do the
repair.
2. 19th Rajiv Gandhi National
Quality Awards for the year 2012
presented.
- The awards, given annually,
were instituted by the Bureau of
Indian Standards in the year 1991
with a view to encourage Indian
manufacturing and service
organizations to strive for
excellence and giving special
recognition to those - considered
leaders of quality movement in
the country.
- Rail Wheel factory, Bangalore
bags the 'Best of All Award'.

- Its supposed to boost the sector
by scaling up the business and
eliminating the middlemen.

of India (ICSI) Life Time
Achievement Award 2013' for
Excellence in Corporate
Governance.
